About
Apex Energy

Apex Energy is one of Saudi Arabia based pipe manufacturing and servicing companies. They mainly manufacture pipes using oil and they are also actively serving their clients with various post-manufacturing services such as servicing, installation, and repairing.

The
Challenges

Multiple Businesses

Holding various companies and businesses under their belt, the client was looking for an enterprise solution that could bring all operational data under one roof. Besides, the client was also looking for a solution wherein they don’t have to buy separate licenses for different companies. Also, they wanted to avail independent reports for all of their companies based on specific attributes to analyze each business process thoroughly.

Separation of products and Customers

As mentioned above, clients were holding multiple businesses, which means there would be multiple products and customers. So, they wanted a centralized system wherein the products and customers of each company could be managed separately to avoid conflicts.

Handling Accounts and Invoices

Earlier, they were using Maximo software to manage their accounts. As a result, if they moved to any other platform for the centralization of data, they were looking forward to fetching the data (journal entries, vendors, invoices, etc.) from Maximo software.

Purchase Request Step

Before generating an RFQ (Request for Quote), they wanted to add a step wherein the team needs to create a purchase request and forward it to the purchasing department. Further they would create RFQ based on the requirements.

Dividing Batch Payments

Dealing in an industry wherein big payments are divided into specific batches. So, they were looking forward to customizing the batch payment process and splitting specific invoices based on the particular amount.

SOLUTION
DELIVERED

Odoo 12 Enterprise

Having been in contact with Apex, we proposed them to migrate to Odoo Enterprise v12.

Also, we being into the Odoo ERP development, explained to them the multi-company features of Odoo enterprise to bring a solution to their requirements.

Specific Customizations

  • Disabled the common product and contact book feature to make it applicable for multiple companies.
  • Developed various payroll customizations.
  • Custom reports with attributes suitable for the customers of different companies.

Accounting

  • A plugin that could fetch vendor details, entries, & invoices to Odoo from Maximo software.
  • Accountants could quickly deal with Odoo by dividing payment into several installments.

RFQ Feature

Base Odoo structure didn’t provide a purchase request feature.

So, we deployed a module wherein the purchasing department could quickly generate purchase requests and could also send RFQs based on it.
